Series name: Star Wars
Canon notes: Taken from the end of Thrawn: Treason in his home canon. This version is also a CRAU version from Voidtreckers. Voidtreckers involves characters traveling through space on a train, making stops at worlds that need help. Sometimes the world would be in the middle of a war, or mass evacuations were needed, or strange supernatural phenomena needed stopping, and so forth.
Species: Human
Age: Never outright stated, but he’s at least 20.
Arrival Condition: Eli’s arriving in good shape.
History: Canon history. In Voidtreckers, Eli had situations where he had to make hard choices, and he came away from it knowing that such choices had to be made, but sometimes it was also okay to step away from situations that caused him distress if someone else could handle it. His most rewarding experience was helping to evacuate an entire planet’s people and animals from a disaster that was going to destroy their world. He got into playing music, especially the piano, and showed an interest in writing his own music compositions. Eli also began a romantic relationship with Thrawn.
Personality: Eli would say that he’s just an ordinary guy from a backwater planet. At the start of the novel, he aims low, wanting nothing more than to just use his existing talents for a mundane life as a supply officer. In truth, he’s much smarter than he thinks he is, and while he’s not a super genius, he is very smart in his own right. Even when Thrawn works with him and helps develop his tactical skills, Eli has a mundane view of himself. This is exemplified when another character points out that he’s one of the few people who can see how Thrawn’s complicated plans work, and it takes him a moment to realize that what’s become obvious to him isn’t so for everybody. That said, he does have problems with improvising when out in the field, such as coming up with a believable cover story on the spot and he has problems trying to talk his way out of trouble.
While he gets nervous when he’s at high-class parties, thanks to feeling like he doesn’t belong at them, he doesn’t shy away from dangerous missions. He never gripes when he goes out into the field and gives it his all when it comes to completing a mission. Even when captured, he never loses his cool and will take charge of a situation if he has to.
He’s as loyal as they come and cares about those he’s friends with. He hates seeing friends put themselves in danger or risking their lives, and will come to the rescue if he can. A good example of this is when he defends Thrawn from a xenophobic attack, despite the fact that he could have easily run off and left Thrawn to fend for himself. That said, while he was with the Empire, he didn’t believe in a lot of the bad things they did (like slavery), and while he was with them, he was really more loyal to Thrawn than he was to the Empire. And when he left the Empire, that loyalty went over to the Chiss Ascendancy, since they’re not an evil empire. Another good example of his loyalty is when he promised to kill a friend because she didn’t want to be taken prisoner by those who would brainwash her, and while Eli didn’t want to, he still made the promise and intended to go through with it.
Abilities: Eli is a genius when it comes to numbers. He can look at spreadsheets and quickly spot discrepancies and patterns in the data. At one point he describes numbers as being like music, and he sees numbers as being the heart of everything in the universe. Thanks to Thrawn, he also knows how to think like a tactician and he has great skills of observation.
Personal Item: Standard issue Imperial blaster
